Fishing in the Big Blue

“The sea, the great unifier, is man’s only hope. Now, as never before, the old phrase has a literal meaning: we are all in the same boat.”

– Jacques Yves Cousteau

Fishing is a hard job. Yet I have always envied fishermen.

I took this photograph 10 years ago. It is the Tyrrhenian Sea photographed from the cliff near Scopello, northern coast of Sicily.  I like the texture and color of the sea on this image. I like the sea.

Small Solace

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” -Jacques Cousteau

I miss the sea. Alas, at the moment I can only see it on photographs. So I re-edited a photo I took nine years ago. I was in Scala dei Turchi, on the southern coast of Sicily. This time I edited it in black and white. Small solace.
