More Green in the City

Meadow installed by the artist Heinrich Gartentor in the Münsterhof square in Zurich, Switzerland

The Münsterhof is a public square in the Old Town of Zurich, Switzerland. The pavement of this square is made of granite stones. No green. No trees. Only grey granite stones.

Nowadays the granite stone pavement turned into a wild meadow. It is an experiment by the Swiss artist Heinrich Gartentor. This temporary art intervention is titled Insel in der Stadt (Island in the City).

The experiment works. That’s how I like to see the city center. More grass and trees and less gray.
