Lake Iseo seen from Monte Isola island, Lombardy, Italy

Exploring Monte Isola

Monte Isola in Italian means mountain island. Little imagination: in fact it is a mountain in the middle of a lake, Lake Iseo, Italy.

Easy to reach by ferry, on the island is allowed to circulate only by bike and moped. The weather was nice and I enjoyed exploring Monte Isola by walking the many roads and trails on the island.

Everywhere along the paths I could see (and photograph) fantastic views of Lake Iseo and the surrounding mountains.

Thank you. Monte Isola, out of season, is not very touristy and therefore an ideal place to walk, relax and enjoy the view.

Thanks Sartenada. The nice thing about Monte Isola and Lake Iseo is that for much of the year is not yet spoiled by mass tourism. Regards.
