Taormina – Ancient Theater

The Ancient Theater of Taormina is one of the archaeological gems of Sicily. The theater has Greek origin but is totally Roman in its present form. The top view of the theater is breathtaking, ranging from the Ionian Sea to the Mount Etna volcano. After so many centuries in ruins, from the fifties, the ancient theater is used as an outdoor theater for concerts, theater and ceremonies – finally back to what it was built for.

This looks very impressive – I think this is the theatre my brother visited when he went to Sicily last year. Wonderful photos to really show off its glory. x

Great shots. I’ve been there myself, it’s a fantastic place with amazing views of Etna in one direction and the coast in the other. I’d love to see a show there!
