Brancaleone Superiore is the site of the old town of Brancaleone, Calabria, Southern Italy. Of ancient origin the town was struck, during its history, repeatedly by earthquakes and landslides that led to its final abandonment in 1951. The inhabitants moved to the coast where the new town of Brancaleone Marina had risen.
Old Brancaleone remained in complete abandonment for more than half a century, in recent years there have been works of recovering the old village. This abandoned town has now become a real open-air museum and during the summer it is visited by an increasing number of visitors
